Photographing Natural Movement
As a portrait photographer, I’m always looking for moments that look great but are also really natural. Very often with someone with long hair, I’ll ask them to move the hair off their face. And I’m not doing it for posing sake – I’m doing it because I really do want them to move their hair off their face.
But while they’re doing that, why not photograph it? You can get the most amazing pictures. They look natural, they don’t feel staged, but they still have movement and a little bit of storytelling. And I’ll do that all day.
