Walkthrough: Removing Creases From Clothing Using Frequency Separation
This is in response to a post on the forum from Rachel Thornhill on retouching clothing.
The video uses Frequency Separation plus a couple of curves layers and should be straightforward for most situations. To learn about Frequency Separation watch the video here.

How does the Apply Image step differ for a 16-bit file?
Hi Garry – sorry for the slow response. If you’re using a 16-bit file, use the following:
Invert RGB Channel
Blending mode: ADD
Scale: 1
Offset: 0
Hope that helps!
AMAZING! Thank you so much Paul, just catching up with some podcasts and you mentioned you’d done these walk throughs… Managed to watch them on a second screen so followed along on PS. You are a ?! Rachel xx ps. yes those were artefacts on the jpeg and not the master thank goodness!
No problem – glad it was useful! x
