A short video explaining how to create an action and assign a hotkey to it.
Actions are a very useful function in Photoshop, enabling repetitive tasks to be performed quickly and simply. Put simply, they are one of things most retouchers rely on day to day. I use the example of a simple 'Content Aware Fill' action that is perfect for removing blemishes, stray hairs and dust spots.

Quick question – are actions transferrable between computers? I have a few that I use on iMac and now need them on my Mac Book Pro; do you know if there a way of accessing the saved ones and exporting them? TIA!

I’ve never even come across actions before. Thanks so much for introducing me!
Brilliant! I’ve been using the shortcut keys on the keyboard for a really detailed edit today, and every now and then I get the combination wrong and change it to foreground colour… 2 mins to record this action and it has saved me soooo much time! If I ever get the edit finished I’ll post it in the forum ? Thank you Paul x

No problem! They have a LOT of uses (though they can be tricky to get right.) Shout if you have any questions.
