I have a question which is mainly out of interest really.

How often and under what circumstances does anyone use manual focus?

Do you find you have to in certain conditions or are current camera bodies/lenses just more reliable and accurate than mine?

I think I’m going to start wearing my glasses from now on as I’m relying on my equipment a bit too much without being able to see properly of its in focus through my viewfinder.

    Hey Dave,

I always struggle with manual focus, I can never see through the viewfinder if it’s clear or not! So auto focus set point for me all the way. But then I do usually to take a series of shots, and when one is out of focus, I tend to find the next is fine.

Guessing it’s useful in low light for subjects that are fixed? Not the easiest with kids and dogs racing around!

Interested to hear from those who do shoot in manual focus and reasons to use it.

    Hope all is well!
