Well, Christmas sort of got in the way. Apologies if that sounds a little Scroogy, but it did. Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE the festive season, but this year, it feels like I crashed right through it. Usually, I would say I crashed INTO it and came to a grinding halt, but this year, nope, it feels like we simply failed to stop and we obliterated everything in our path. As I sit typing this, I am looking at a pile of festive gifts, decorations and chaos, so I have resorted to ignoring it and keeping going.
It has been lovely, though. We had family around, shot a late-December wedding, numerous portrait sessions, a surprise engagement and numerous events at the Royal Institution Of Great Britain (an annual highlight for me is the recording of the BBC Christmas lectures that begin their run tonight, December 29th, on BBC4) On that note, I wrote an article on how we created some of the PR shots for Dr Chris Van Tulleken for Professional Photo. Hopefully it’s worth a read!
If there is a slight panic in my voice, there’s good reason: in five weeks’ time, Sarah and I are working on Crystal Cruises again, travelling around South America for seven weeks. Yup, you read that right: seven weeks. It’s a long stint to be working out of the studio, but it’ll be a blast!
Anyway, back to the updates here on the website: a few new Frame Mockups (I put some nice Graphistudio arrangements above a stairway, which was fun – more of these to follow), a quick lighting breakdown for you as well as an article on image formats that was triggered by a discussion in our Facebook group about eliminating ‘banding’ in certain smooth sections of your image.
